Why Now?

Since launching in March 2025, The Workline has been closely connected to Daan van Rossum and the FlexOS team. They provided credibility, hosted the content, created my visual identity, and gave me confidence as a new creator. I explain how our partnership continues below.

But nearly a year of weekly writing created something beyond what I anticipated: a body of work that my growing subscriber base wanted to reference, share, and review. Not just read once.

I also found that when telling someone new about The Workline, they might ask 'What's FlexOS?' or 'Are you writing for them?' The answer was always 'Yes, but also no—let me explain.' Not a dealbreaker, but not ideal for a newsletter trying to build clarity around complex cross-functional work."

WalktheWorkline.com removes that friction. Easier to remember. Simpler to share. Better aligned with what this work has become: a resource people use rather than just consume.

The timing felt right. The foundation was strong enough. The content deserved its own front door.

Walking the Line

The name The Workline has always been intentional.

I've never chased headlines or rushed out commentary just to react to the latest report, especially when the same links cascade through a dozen other newsletters. I think about this work as a journey instead.

My role: walk alongside leaders as they navigate uncertainty, tradeoffs, and organizational friction. Make the path more navigable. Not stand at the end with answers.

The "line" language serves a purpose beyond branding. It creates shared language and lexical mnemonic that sticks when you're actually trying to apply it. For example:

Memorable language functions as a tool for change rather than decoration.

"Walk the Workline" makes that metaphor explicit. And now literal.

First time I put "Walking the Workline" on a conference stage.

Who This Serves

The hardest part of explaining The Workline has always been the audience. (My “ICP” in marketing parlance.)

This newsletter serves leaders working between the traditional silos of HR, IT, and Real Estate, plus partners in Finance, Communications, Operations, and the business itself. People trying to coordinate across these functions to deliver better work experience, often without shared operating models, language, or incentives.

Many readers gravitate toward the Chief of Work or Chief Work Officer constructs. Not necessarily as a title, but as a way of describing work that currently falls through the cracks of legacy organization structures.

If that resonates, you're probably in the right place.

What Ownership Unlocks

Taking full ownership of the site opens possibilities I've wanted to pursue for a while.

First, make the body of work easier to navigate. Landing pages for big themes like change management, workplace strategy, and the Chief of Work. Clear paths to ideas that recur across articles.

Second, better representation of the “Constellation” of stars in The Workline community, both leaders I’ve featured in articles and readers who have joined live sessions.

Over time, it creates a single home for related work: events, conversations, and client services.

Not all at once. No grand roadmap. Just steady integration in service of clarity.

Gratitude and Continuity

I want to be explicit: this represents growth rather than separation from FlexOS.

We remain closely connected. I am part of the Lead with AI Pro community, and lead sessions for members like my interview about Hearst’s AI change program. AI education and change management also remain meaningful parts of my advisory work.

Our newsletters also recommend each other. That relationship continues. I'm deeply thankful for what we built together.
